Futon Daiko is a type of wadaiko stand that is used for festivals in Osakaand the surrounding areas (Kawachi, Senshu, Awajishima).
Each Futon Daiko carries a wadaiko in the center, and with a weight of 1 to 2 tons, is shouldered by 40 or more people.
Like the Danjiri, Futon Daiko has a long history, and has been an importantpart of the Japanese festival scene for many centuries.

We associate "Danjiri" with Kisiwada Danjiri, which is the most famous in Japan. However, there are many Danjiri in Osaka or the regions around Osaka (Sakai, Daitou, Sennsyu, Koube, Nara) and they are also historical and lively now.
Danjiri is Dashi, a float used festivals and is classified into two kinds, "upper Danjiri" and "under Danjiri". Then Danjiri has various name in each region and is expressed by many combination of Chinese characters.
